**Role Summary:**

The Customs Operations Speciailst supports the LPB1 above by running reports, analyzing data, and providing supporting documents for one of the customs regional processes.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Support Customs Leader to support stakeholders on Customs operational processes ( classification, import/export; special programs etc) compliantly and in an efficient fashion;

+ Audit customs transactions to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and provide regular reporting of compliance metrics;

+ Provide guidance, assistance and advice to the businesses in support of their customs operational processes/ import export/classifcation/ FTA

+ Provide interpretation and communication of requirements to respective GE business or function;

+ Communicate and escalate any process or compliance concerns in a timely manner;

+ Support programs and projects that take advantage of Free Trade Agreements (including management of certificates of origin) and other duty-savings opportunities


+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED or equivalent with at least significant experience in Customs, or a Supply Chain related field)

+ Significant experience in Customs, Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ University degree in a Customs related area such as supply chain management, business administration, or international trade.

+ Proven track record of project management

+ Demonstrated Compliance mindset

+ Demonstrated ability to use knowledge, experience and data to make accurate and timely decisions

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Demonstrated ability to think analytically and critically

+ Demonstrated ability to work well with a global or cross-functional team

+ Experience with Microsoft Office applications
